Resume

I’m Annabelle Norman.

My love of the film world bloomed in 2013 on the set of sci-fi action film Predestination (2014). As a child my parents would always audition my brother and I in adverts, television and screen to help make a little more money to cover our school fees and day to day expenses. Child acting was always something I found fun and getting out of math class was always a bonus, however, I didn’t start to appreciate it until I was in the costume and make up world of Predestination (2014). I was in absolute wonder at all the colourful garments, fashion illustrations and planning that had been involved in creating even a small character like “suburban girl”.

I knew at that point that this world of creativity, fashion, colour and vivid expression was where I wanted to be. Or maybe it was just the costume team hair spraying my mum’s classic 1950’s beehive. .

Through my time in the industry I have grown an even stronger passion for creating in the world of screen. I have learnt to combine my graphic design and visual art skills into costume and set/prop construction and utilise a wide range of skills to produce high quality work.

I love vintage aesthetics and often draw inspiration from old media, particularly loving the 1960’s and early 1970’s. My love of western also comes through in my designs and personal taste. Overall I’m a maximalist at heart that loves colour, unique garments, curating characters and creating the worlds they live in.
